Ruby walks

Ruby started walking as her preferred mode of transportation last week while we were in New England visiting Grandma and Grampy (and Pap and Nan, since they were up visiting as well.) As I mentioned in a previous post somewhere, Ruby had been taking steps and getting braver for a few weeks. Then a day or so before our trip, she got the hang of standing up in the middle of the floor.

This picture was taken on top of a hill where we were flying kites. It was the first sunny day after a long week of constant rain. Dad got a bit of sun burn, but it was worth it.

Ruby did a lot of new stuff during that trip. She started saying "buh bye" and waving her hand spontaneously. She went up to Kuya Theo and gave him a real hug, with a good squeeze. She started fighting for her toys. She's getting really good at drinking with a straw. One time, her brother was drinking something from a straw, and she shoved his face away with her hand so she could drink. To his credit, Theo thought it was hilarious, and didn't shove her back.

There is so much to say about that vacation, but for now I must sleep.
